TBI COP Scholarship Fund

Dear Friend:

Each year the Brain Injury Association of NYS (BIANYS) sponsors its two-day Annual Conference. This event, scheduled for June 7 & 8, 2007 at the Marriott Hotel in Albany, is the only state-wide program designed to meet the information and educational needs of individuals with brain injury, their families, health care providers, educators, financial professionals, and advocates.

Naturally, individuals with brain injury would love to attend, however; many of them have financial limitations and cannot afford to pay the registration fee. As part of its mission, BIANYS grants a significant number of scholarships to cover the expenses of individuals with brain injury and their families with limited financial means. Last year, with the support of many generous individuals and organizations, more than 125 scholarships were granted.

At this year’s Annual Conference, Bob Woodruff, ABC News Anchor, and his wife, Lee, will be the keynote speakers. Their best-selling book, In an Instant, is the story of the family’s journey after Bob’s traumatic brain injury in Iraq. Mr. Woodruff’s high visibility in the brain injury community has brought an overwhelming number of scholarship requests to BIANYS. For the first time, the Association faces the possibility that some of these requests may go unfunded.

For many scholarship recipients, the Annual Conference may be the only opportunity they have to interact with other individuals with brain injury, to gather essential information, and to enjoy a positive, uplifting atmosphere. As an organization serving individuals with brain injury, TLC Support Services wants to give as many people as possible this opportunity. Therefore, TLC has formed a volunteer outreach program to build a scholarship fund.

Any and all donations are welcome. Please make your check payable to BIANYS. Checks may be given in person, or mailed to TLC Support Services, LLC, 411 Theodore Fremd Avenue, Suite 206 South, Rye, NY 10580. Please write “TBI Community Outreach Program scholarships” in the memo section of your check.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,

TBI COP Community Outreach Program

Having read this I believed it was very enlightening.
I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this short article together.
I once again find myself personally spending way too much time
both reading and leaving comments. But so what, it was still
worth it!
